  • Congratulations! You have a career.

I recommend focusing your passions into hobbies. If you want to change careers, give yourself a time span to do so, and do NOT abandon the old career prematurely.

Consider spending a couple years passionately pursuing your interests outside of work or in your downtime. Consider this a training period.

Then, spend a third year where you take on some freelance clients applying your passion to small projects as a side hustle. This will make you some chump change.

Do this for three years, learning how to expand it as a business.

Eventually you can transition from full time career A to part time career A, part time career B, and then finally full time career B if you can sustain it and prefer it.

  • In my recent experience I would say cats are smarter than most people realize. They can learn many English words if you train them and communicate with them actively. Obviously they’re not saying those words, but they respond to them. I would not be surprised if some cats figure out mirrors immediately and some take a while. I knew some idiots in grade school who probably couldn’t figure it out at first

  • In my personal journey, I came to be permanently skeptical of all organized religions. None of them are infallible, all of them are a cult to a degree. Here are some other beliefs I hold today:

1 - There might be something real behind exorcisms and hauntings, regardless of the validity of the religions who treat them. I base this on conversations I’ve held with witnesses I trust.

2 - I don’t think there is only one higher power. Whether there are tiers, I cannot say.

3 - The evidence for reincarnation is fascinating. Check out the history of the university of Virginia and it’s department dedicated to the supernatural.

4 - Some people can see/commune with the dead. Whether any can do it at will is another story. Most of the people I believe are private about it, most of those who sell the service seem phony.

5 - Although I don’t believe in any religion, I was my best self when I did. Faith in a moral cause does wonders for the soul, regardless of factuality. Prayer, meditation, and ritual are good for the soul. Community is incredible.

  • Honestly, my favorite use case for ChatGPT is as an Internet search engine. Google has become so shitty that I outsource it’s main job lol. I just tell ChatGPT to send me reputable sources as links for the query, and I skip the bullshit.

It’s also not a bad way to generate SEO friendly descriptions for eBay listings, if you have a lot to list and are lazy. You can move a lot faster and get better results than using the default ai that site has. It would be ideal to personally write everything and be an SEO expert, but you are mostly guiding people to see the photos and just need the metadata perks of the jargon.

  • It’s ok to need a break to regroup.

It’s essential to come back from that break.

Things you can do when you are ready:

1 - Survive. Dead people don’t help. Martyrs are rare, most become statistics. 2 - Establish a local community for support in case of an emergency. 3 - Prepare emergency water and food supplies. 4 - Gather first aid supplies and train with them. 5 - Consider getting classes with a concealable sidearm and getting your Conceal Carry License. Most likely you won’t need it, but it’s a security blanket that you might want someday. After you have trained and stored an ammo supply, consider a 12 gauge for home defense and an AR for mobilization/hunting. Then get an armored vest. Then train more and buy more ammo. 6 - When a populist economic message and charismatic candidate emerge to challenge the new status quo, compel your community to join the revolution.
