You got a mouth, don’t you?
Sounds like you’re painting the world with broad strokes based on narrow circumstances. Not everyone is the 40yo you want to kick out, even if their situation seems similar. The OP is more than likely nowhere near 40 and obviously looking for ways to change their state in life. No reason to beat a stranger up because they resemble someone you know.
Edit: I just read more of the thread…the OP actually kinda sucks.
What’s your favorite?
I love this!
One of my cats, Ito (named after Junji), has learned to be pretty clear in how he communicates. When he reeeeally wants pets and attention, he’ll stand up and reach a paw towards my face, miming a petting motion. When he wants me to override the automatic feeder and give him extra food, he’ll look me in the eyes, say something in cat (presumably “follow me”) and guide me to the food bowls, where he will then shower me with affection and try to convince me that he deserves a reward for being so sweet and adorable. I’m weak to his charms.
Man, you must’ve thought a whole 2 seconds about that comment.
Got mine basically as soon as they released, and I still use it plenty. I have it set up to be usable as a controller for my PC, and it is by far my favorite controller to use. It’s a dream come true for my controller to become its own console whenever I want.
Thanks for the share! This is an interesting experience to hear about.
It’s insane to me that the competition can’t compete with the blueprint. I was really hoping that the deck would cause better products to follow, not worse.
Doesn’t the story portray Paul Atreidies’ messianic rise as a bad, albeit opportunistic move? I only watched the new films, but it did not feel like we were supposed to think it was a good thing.
If that makes you feel better about yourself. I simply wish not to have a meaningless argument again.
People don’t stop being people just because they’re wearing different clothes, you goober.
I’m in that camp too. Customer facing jobs took a huge toll on my mental health that I’m still recovering from, even if I was eventually rather good at it.
There’s a popular myth that, without the motivation of money, nothing would ever get done.
“Smart” was never on the list of criteria. “Attractive” and/or “Entertaining” are much more common.
I fundamentally disagree with the idea that suicide of consciousness is the correct answer to resolving the problem of suffering. Suffering is but one element of our collective existence, and while I agree that it’s unpleasant (duh), extermination is far too extreme an answer to consider it just. The scope is simply too narrow and pessimistic, and if one were to act on this philosophy, I would consider them evil. Don’t kill your mates for being depressed or for hurting. Help them, however you can.
Our brains are incredibly complex organic matter. The only reason we know they think is because we experience the thinking. But we’re still just mechanically complex clumps of nonthinking objects that create a thinking one.
I like to think all advents in science are simulation modifications. We managed to make rocks think and talk to us. That sounds like magic in a vacuum.
I’m so sorry.
