To be fair with Pat the Bunny, I think some of his earlier work glorified substance abuse a little. Johnny Hobo and the Freight Trains specifically teetered the line between “it’s messed up that I’m an addict” and “I’m gonna get high in this parking lot”. That said, as a whole, his bands really mark his stages of recovery in a way that is very interesting.
I recently introduced my otherwise cool libertarian coworker to Mischief Brew (The vocalist’s band following The Orphans) and am hoping it speaks to him.
I use John Oliver as an indicator of how far a progressive who otherwise isn’t that involved politically is willing to see things. His content can be useful to know where to start when planting seeds to radicalize them further.
Not the point, but the Socialist Republic of Chattanooga continues to amass its power.
A rebrand to “Food or Bombs”
The biggest out of the box difference on desktop is that openBSD has a working X system and session manager out of the box. It’s a very bare bones ones, but it is there. Freebsd is a fully functional CLI system post install. Setting up a GUI is simple, just not pre-installed.
I think captcha means “Don’t you dare refer to captcha in the third person”
I LOVE void, while I did need to do a bit more research at times, I felt like it taught me more about how an OS functions. The first time I made my own unit script was also super satisfying.
Charts as well as collages on Orpheus! Basically user made Playlist but for whole albums.
Finally somebody with a level head speaks up. I am confident we can make this happen and finally put an end to this, perhaps with a 5 state solution.
“We have no compassion and we ask no compassion from you. When our turn comes, we shall not make excuses for the terror.”
Godspeed to all those fighting for freedom, long live Palestine
Where do you think the role of American Communist truly lies? I have thought for quite some time that the global south is the future and our job is to first and foremost do everything we can to stop interference abroad.
Also, Chattanooga is dope, definitely one of the cooler places if you want to stay in the south.
Seconding Blowback, definitely quantity over quality with this one. Season 3 really blew my mind when I finally learned how awful the Korean War was. They deem it to be less of a war and more of a genocide, it really put into perspective why the DPRK is so bent on defense and isolation.
Revolutionary Left Radio is also great, my favorite episode being on The Battle of Blair Mountain.
It’s patreon only, but I have really liked Radio Free Amanda when I was subbed.
100% agree, Knowledge Fight is honestly my favorite podcast because it keeps me in touch with the latest right wing Mindrot but Dan is too charitable. Jordan’s heart is honestly in the right place for the most part.
I also like Q-Anon Anonymous for similar reasons, though Julian is actually an MLM.

Not that it matters but we were briefly a community of lemmy.ml (dev.lemmy.ml at the time) I between the discord and chapo.chat.
The good news is that the mods of Lemmy.ml are based and so many people post there given that it is the flagship instance. I don’t think they’d ever defederate. We can continue dunking on western propoganda in [email protected]
I live in a state that will likely never come close to voting anything other than republican within my lifetime. I personally show up to vote for local elections and vote for whatever socialist presidential nominee out of spite.
While my politics are ML I would consider voting for someone like Bernie again because I still find it favorable to the alternative.
When Das Kapital makes you nut too hard
His music is properly just folk/ballads but I only bring it up because it matches every other criteria and you might be surprised how much you like him is David Rovics. I’d recommend starting with something like “Who Would Jesus Bomb”
If you like hardcore punk, “Stray From The Path” is also great. Some of their more political songs being “Goodnight Alt Right” and “Guillotine”.
