I think part of that larger discussion needs to include the array of reasons that people become homeless in the first place, cause it’s not just that they lack motivation like your comment suggests. There’s mental health reasons, financial reasons, drug addiction, alcoholism, etc. And once you become homeless, it can be difficult to get out of - jobs require that you have reliable transportation, and an address for mailing stuff to you, that you look presentable, and that you don’t smell.
A fair amount of homeless people have smartphones nowadays, so I think a system in place where temporary residence can be set up, a bank account set up, access to therapy, and priority access to remote jobs can take place will be a huge step forward in reducing the homeless population. That and also capping interest rates and market values for houses/condos/apartments so that they’re actually affordable to the common person.
You know, if they were talking a player named that, someone could have reported it, and this comment could have just been the straw that broke the camel’s back to get the ban.
Yup. Shit’s out of control now. Can someone just make an equally competitive car soccer game to act as a competitor?
There’s too much toxicity in RL these days.
I’m guessing it was more like “Let me pull this book off the shelves and wade through that for the answers”
Surprised there’s no Mr. Fixit
The alternatives are:
Alternatives to Linux like other Unix based systems, FreeBSD, etc. I don’t know enough about, so whether or not it would be better on this kind of a product I don’t know.
Give me a Linux solution not backed by billion dollar corporations looking to consume as much data on you as possible, and I’ll listen lol
For me, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.
Every subsequent watch, I add more to the commentary of “Is he crazy?” and “Is Nurse Ratched evil or just doing her job?”
I like how this movie’s fanbase is split on a group of people recommending the theatrical cut and another group recommending the Director’s Cut. I haven’t found another movie that has something similar.
Not seeing my reply show up, so doing it again in case the previous one got lost in the abyss: Subscribed to all 3 just now and I’m looking forward to enjoying some new communities! Thank you!
Subscribed to all three of those and I’m looking forward to finding some new fun communities to be a part of, thank you!
I feel ya. I tire of the politics here, and it can get extremely left leaning, like pro-communism/pro-socialism/pro-fascism and very anti-American to the point where it’s a little sus. I get it, there’s always been anti-America sentiment surrounding conversations and in media all my life, but it’s a bit extreme here.
I go onto social media to turn my brain off, not do elaborate research on the past 500 years of colonialism so that I can make sure I’m accurately arguing my point cohesively on this one comment. At the very least, I’ll engage with conversations about tech when I’m not turning my brain off, but I hate politics/debate. I want a DDR/Stepmania/Etterna community where we can discuss new themes released, new songs on various cabinets, etc.
I remember it being trolls on 4chan.
Nice try, you clearly googled to make this /s
