Not woke means with huge boobs. Big hair. Big asses and bigger attitudes. To finally show that cute barista with the blue hair that I am a MAN and I will NEVER back down.
I hope that cleared it up for you.

Well at least it’s clear you only want to know this so you can troll, I’m sorry, I mean “avoid censorship.”
on a large scale doesn’t this mostly protect people from dangerous debts?
Not really. It just ends up with lenders offering far more predatory interest rates, which worsens the situation for the debtor. The system is set up in such a way that you can spiral pretty hard with a single misstep.
There’s a difference between wanting to have good credit so that you can benefit from a garbage system and wanting that system to exist in the first place.
I’m glad it works for you, but I always hated getting to work very sweaty and then being smelly for the rest of the day when I biked.
I go to great lengths to not use Amazon but in the US, unless you live in a large urban area Amazon and Walmart have systematically run most smaller, neighborhood retailers out of business already. If I wanted to go to a bookstore that wasn’t a Barnes and Noble, I would need to drive about an hour and a half.
I used to really love music discovery on Spotify. I now find it’s the same ald songs over and over. It finds what you like and reinforces that rather than gradually expand it.
I’m in the same boat. For years now it’s felt like every daily mix and discovery playlist is 10 songs I recently just listened to on repeat and then 2 songs that aren’t even tangentially related and I’m left questioning why they were being shown to me.
I’ve recently started wondering how many people are here because they’re too toxic for regular social media rather than because they want to be here.
This has largely been my operating assumption as well since day one when I came over during the Reddit API lockdown. I was fairly active on a NSFW alt up until recently and I’ve actually seen dozens of comments from new users mentioning that the only reason they were here on Lemmy was because they were banned from Reddit and had no other viable options. They were always an asshole to the posters and the reality is that with a lower population of users is that there aren’t enough other voices to drown out these people yet and you end up with a feedback loop of toxicity.
I get it. I do standard deadlifts first thing on my back day because I don’t like fatiguing my posterior chain on leg day, but it definitely causes grip problems by the end of my workout. Maybe it’s just me, but you’ll probably be lifting lower weights typically with an RDL which may be where the comments are coming from.
I’m going to disregard the original comment because a lot of factors are going into the impressiveness and everyone’s body is different, but you can’t really compare your flat bench progression with your deadweight lifts accurately to gauge progress. Either way, progress is progress and congrats on your gains friend!
I am very surprised that there is only one legitimate reference to the original coining of these terms from the beginning of the French Revolution so far in this thread asking what these terms mean.
Just to add to what Daemon provided in the post, aside from hitting the comment button you can also hit the ‘view source’ option from the comment drop-down menu in Jerboa and it will show deleted and mod/admin removed comments as well in plain text.
Not sure if this is intended behavior or not as I actually appreciate the ability to do so. It helps to not lose context in conversations with deleted/removed material while still providing a small barrier to a casual observer.
I understand the point of the meme and lottery is definitely commodifying hope, but a lot of the revenue generated does go towards social and education programs. In the US at least every state has their own system in place, but overwhelmingingly it goes towards funding education. Whether that money is spent responsibly from that trust is another story, but here’s a state by state breakdown:
I’m glad I’m not the only one who found the world resets frustrating. I agree that the world is interesting and atmospheric, but as someone who enjoys thoroughly exploring, the resets just kept ruining my immersion into the world. Maybe one day I’ll go back to the game.
They should just decide who gets to be on top Battle Royale style. Everyone who wants to be in the running enters and the last one alive gets to be the alpha. Everyone else can then lick their toes or whatever the fuck they think needs to happen ez pz.
I expect them to try harder and with at least 30% more bravado!
Why is Sigma listed higher than Beta and Gamma? Do these so-called alphas not know the Greek alphabet?
You can Ctrl+select multiple languages. Do you also have Undetermined+English+whatever else is relevant set?
In my experience the federation issues others are referring to don’t report missing comments because they aren’t technically there on anything but the home instance so I’m inclined to believe it’s something different.
Go to your settings and make sure your language preferences include “undetermined” as well as your preferred languages. Lemmy only shows comments that match your preferences.
No.
