  • Yet language and abstraction are the core of intelligence. You cannot have intelligence without 2 way communication, and if anything, your brain contains exactly that dictionary you describe. Ask any verbal autistic person, and 90% of their conversations are scripted to a fault. However, there’s another component to intelligence that the Turing Test just scrapes against. I’m not philosophical enough to identify it, but it seems like the turing test is looking for lightning by listening for rumbling that might mean thunder.

  • Any form of name-calling or declaration in regards to the individual and not the subject of debate is an appeal to character, and is the last resort of those who can’t support their claim, second to violence.

If I have “ignored” responses, it is because my app has not notified me that I have a response to a comment. To my knowledge, I have responded in-kind to every comment regarding this post, and even if I hadn’t, one cannot be compelled to respond to every argument or point. It is entirely reasonable for me, on my own judgement, to deem a reply to be a waste of time or nothing worth adding to or drawing attention toward.

Lastly, if you would like to make a claim and prove good faith, please do so here or in DMs. I would love to discuss philosophy and ethics. But let’s do so in our own words. Quoting Manifestos will be just as effective to a productive discussion as quoting religious scripture. Convince me. Don’t beat me with a dead man’s words.

Take me to the local mom’n’pops hole in the wall that never grew out of the 50’s and who’s every “secret ingredient” is a wad of lard on a skillet. Take me to a ramen hut where the chef lives in the apartment above. Take me to that tiny coffee shop and nerdy tabletop joint that the married couple owns to save on rent and has wildly clashing aesthetic choices. Take me to the BBQ pit where beer guts and 70’s afros are the dress code and there are 6 seats and a booth.

First dates are meant to be easy, casual, and an honestly blatant first-sight judgement calls of the tastes of the other person. Local, less-known joints are the perfect way to show depth of character and that you can show potential partners novel and interesting experiences. It doesn’t have to be food either. Arcades, natural spaces, and quiet, secluded spots that let you both be at ease as you explore future prospects with one another.

  • The purpose of life (imo) is to discover humanity in yourself and what “the best human” means to you. People get their ideas on “the best human” from many inspired examples. The Buddha, Mohammed the Prophet, Jesus of Nazareth, Julius Caesar, or Jimmy Buffet. Some people need no such idols and can form their own understanding of what it means to be human, but all of these scale.

Your humanity plays into the identity of your family, plays into the identity of your city/town, plays into the identity of your region, plays into the identity of your nation, and at the top is the true meaning of life: the culmination of every dream and desire, the moral fabric of our species, and the embodiment of the only such entity in existence to our knowledge. The purpose of life is to find that, reconcile with it, and use the wisdom you gain in doing so to help shape our species into a happy, healthy, and mature civilization, or die trying.
