I think both solutions are probably reasonable secure. Personally I use the proton solution, because I like that my data is in Europe and I prefer to pay for services. I like the more transparent and honest business where I pay and get something in return.

Like these people don’t work from home or wherever they want. This is about flexing authority and dominance.
Nerdy communities always seem to attract some very opinionated people, which is a turn off for people just trying to do better.
I think David Graeber and David Wengrove make a case that it has worked in bigger communities too.

Maybe Write Freely? You get 3 blogs for 6 dollars a month or you can host it yourself since it’s open source.

Just reading Chomsky, then Graeber. There is actually no great injustices in my personal life. I dont have any reason to complain.
It’s owned by Meta/Facebook a company that’s makes its money spying on users. Signal or Simplex Chat are much better choices.
I think something like Simplex Chat is easier to use.

I don’t think Telegram denies doing mass surveillance. They might deny targeting queer groups and claim to only target extremist, whatever that means.
