Nah mate, people in general across all walks of life have an incredibly difficult time putting themselves into a perspective that isn’t their own. Humans are built to be biased towards our personal experiences. It’s a trap we can all fall into.
I will agree though that leftists usually recognize it more because a lot of leftist theory was founded as a direct criticism of what became known as right wing ideology and how it engaged in class warfare. It entirely will depend on how educated in theory one is to recognize and understand the alternative viewpoint.
This seems to be the biggest flaw with people of the center and the left wing; most just cannot put themselves into the perspective of the right wing to critically analyze the logic behind the position.
You cannot judge a right wing policy decision from the perspective of the left. The goals and expectations are not the same, so of course it doesn’t make sense when using the logical framework of the left/center.
Once you understand the logic behind, then you can begin to actually criticize how their logic is flawed from its premise instead of just claiming they are stupid people who don’t know what they are doing.
Well said mate.
Unfortunately might not work. Once you’re perma banned you are prevented from even editing you’re former comments/posts.
Yea, they say they restricted the Jewish immigrants. Yet, if you read the article posted in my other comment, you’d see that their actions during the time period of their mandate speaks a different tale.
Them abstaining from the vote is purely performative, and doesn’t negate the rest of what they did to facilitate the colonization of Palestine.
Back when “that site” was good.
Just look up the history of Israel before it was given statehood and of Zionism. Here is a good article by the Guardian. warning, it’s a very complicated situation, all in all, and this article really gets into the nitty gritty of history. Literally, deep into it. It’s some heavy reading.
Boiled down though…
After the defeat of the Ottomans and their empire partitioned off to various countries after the Sinai and Palestine campaigns of WW1, the British were given control via a mandate by the League of Nations over a territory that became known as the Mandate of Palestine, but it was still mostly Arab citizens, the British were just given authority to maintain order in the region.
During the years of occupation, the British government encouraged European Jews to settle the region in an effort to fulfill political obligations to the Zionist movement made at what is known as the Balfour Declaration. This caused a civil war to break out over the whole colonization thing.
With the end of the Mandate over the region drawing to an end, and the tensions of the area heightened after civil war, the U.N. voted to subdivide the Mandate of Palestine into two separate states: Palestine and Israel
Just use a lot of lube if you’re going to hate-fuck cars.
Who has that pic of the two rocket volleys being fired at each other that says “my tax dollars” and “also somehow my tax dollars”?
Well, considering that the US and Britain literally invented Israel, that tracks.
Unfortunately, that knowledge doesn’t just help those who wish to fight against it. Those who seek that kind of authoritarian power also were able to learn what worked and what didn’t.
They then spent decades patiently cultivating the type of society, through extensive social manipulation that has since been exacerbated thanks to expanding technology, to create the perfect environment for them to try again.
This is all by design of those who hold the levers of industry to further facilitate their concentration of wealth.
It’s probably organized like any other corporate business.
These guys are nothing more than employees who work for larger media entities; simply talking heads who get their marching orders from their bosses, the same as any schmuck in a corporate office.
It’s all just business.
We truly did it. We put the cart before the horse and made it work anyway
Idk why my brain is the way it is, but I can’t say “KILL-o-meters”, it always comes out as “key-LO-meters”
IS THIS TUE ACCOUNT OF ARIN FROM GAMEGRUMPS? I ALWAYS LOVED HIS BIT OF DELIBERATELY CALLING THE KNIGHT A “HORSE” TO ANNOY DAN WHEN THEY PLAYED CHESS
Ugh, like… I get why it outputs like that, but I also absolutely hate that it outputs like that.
At this point I’m beginning to think that “Never Again” was a lie.
Police statements, which have now been utterly disproven by multiple angles of video footage coming out which show that Arturo was in full view of the protest the entire time and never raised his rifle.
It also shows that peacekeepers never made any attempts to interact with him even once and as soon as Arturo began to rejoin the crowd after strapping up, one of them immediately fired on him, directly into the crowd and fatally hitting an innocent bystander.
Thankfully, Arturo has been released and has not faced any charges. Hopefully it stays that way and the actual shooters face consequence.
