I was 12 and I all I remember thinking was double sided lightsabers are cool. Which was disappointing as I was a huge Star wars fan. I don’t think I really liked it that much but going to the movies was always a big deal.

The only reason I left is removal of third party apps. The more Lemmy users shit on the rest of it the more likely I am to return occasionally on desktop cause it makes me think people here dont want the same things I want, or actually have problems with the things I want.
I think 600lbs for 10 acres is very low. That would be 1 bushel per acre. I think 30 bushels per acre is pretty low for current wheat growing areas. Just realized I could look it up and it’s in the middle 40s per acre. So 24000 lbs for 10 acres.
Seems like an analogy to help you understand, not an argument. No analogy is perfect.
The search sucks, but I’m used to that from reddit. I subscribe from the all feed and that works well.
I think it worked for me because I just had faith (or confirmed) that stuff was working. People threw their hands up because some subscriptions said pending, but it showed up in my subscribed list so I ignored that it said pending.
You don’t have that? You don’t have a tab that says local, subscribed, or all?
Worse come to worse I’m here for a good time not a long time.
Like if an instance like lemmy.world gets too big and fails I’ll probably head to another instance like kbin.social. If it starts a failure cascade people will leave for traditional social media or just leave social media entirely until federation can support it.
Maybe I end up leaving for another social media site, or I just watch youtube and no real social media or something. Whatever happens I’m here while I’m here.
Isn’t it the other way around? Beehaw users won’t see their content. They won’t be able to comment on beehaw content but they can still see it.
Not bad. I’m tempted to replace Bezos or Zuckerberg with the surviving Koch brother though.
I also love audience participation and I find people sitting are 10 times less likely to participate. I haven’t found it common but being able to buy a seat but still stand and mosh etc is ideal.
