once it’s all up and running you’re going to need to be comfortable in the terminal to sort things out.

The tagline of the distro is “A terminal-centric distro with a vibrant and friendly community at its core” So I’m not sure that is something to complain about, and is by design of their team.

To me it isn’t designed as a beginner distro just a preconfigured arch with a nice gui installer and defaults that work for nearly everyone.

Unless your buying a superspeed pci-e gen 4 drive you really don’t even need a heatsink for most drives.

Im in the same boat, I like my pixel 6 pro, but less about device issues, I’ve had my fair share of them. To me google has left me pretty sour, and as someone who has been a huge android and was a fan of Google services. I just can’t give a company my money when they cancel and sell off the services that I loved.

Pretty sure I’ll be buying my first iPhone if I like the looks of the new 15.

I don’t recommend galliumos anymore, it is an abandoned project and hasn’t seen development since 2021.

If your Chromebook is compatible you can flash a full ROM bios and convert your Chromebook to a normal laptop and run full Linux or depending on the device windows 10/11.

It can absolutely be done, I’ve been running uefi modified Chromebooks for a while, my 12th gen intel Chromebook even runs windows now.

I did hear about this, supposedly they did issue a couple false strikes but the latest ones were YouTubers using the Guinness world record logo in the thumbnail, which would be an infringement.

Wouldn’t it be easier to just view the cameras through the interface of your CCTV recording software? I personally use Shinobi for recording, and run Frigate for object detection and notifications through home assistant.

Pretty cool project, haven’t seen it before. as someone who has used two different UEFI flashed Chromebooks as main laptops it’s not something I would use. Really only useful if you want to retain ChromeOS compatibility and I guess only want Linux as secondary option.

I use Unraid and their docker and VM integration, Works great for me as a home user with mixed drives. Most of the dockers i want already have unraid templates so require less configuration. Does everything i want and made it a bit easier for me with less configuration and the mixed drive support.
