Honestly not planning anything crazy either. And thankfully I do know how to use command line so it doesn’t have to be 100% newbie friendly, the reason those two are my top choices is due to the included nvidea drivers. Mint was on my mind too, but from what I read it is better suited for older hardware, whereas I am using a decently modern system (Ryzen 7 3700x & RTX 3060 Ti).
If I may ask, from a user standpoint, how easy was it to switch from GNOME to KDE on Pop! and what were your problems with GNOME in the first place? Browsing both choices, it looks like both are very customizable, and those plugin options for GNOME look pretty neat. I am aware that GNOME does use more resources, but given my system specs it’s not my biggest concern.
Windows 10, still using it but am browsing distros and aim to switch before August. Most likely candidate for me right now is Pop! OS, but given that they have halted development for it to work on their own DE (by the looks of it at least) I may go for Fedora or regular Ubuntu instead.
I’m glad I’m not the only one! Though if I play something for a second time I do tend to up the difficulty a bit.
Yup, I have. I liked it, but it did not make the top 10 for me, purely because two of the storylines were amazing imo (Connor & Kara) and one was centered around a trope that I absolutely despise (Markus). It didn’t ruin the game for me, I still loved it and will play it again at some point, but because of that I cannot put it in my top 10.
Enjoy the new games!
Ranking is tough but I’ll give it a go. The ranking is based on the impact and enjoyment I got out of them regardless of playtime.
What Remains of Edith Finch & Kentucky Route Zero (shared 1st place)
Life is Strange
Stray
GRIS
Cyberpunk 2077
SOMA
Heaven’s Vault
The Town of Light
FAR: Lone Sails
Portal 2
That last one is a bit of an outlier but I have laughed so much while playing it, it deserves a place at the table.
Her life is not your choice though. Thankfully.
Sadly, it’s not just the US. A whole generation of students here in The Netherlands were made to take loans. They did change it back, but it was in place for 7/8 years. And, as a cherry on top, there was no interest initially. Then a small (~0.5%) interest was added, and now a few days ago they announced that the interest would be five-folded. It sounds too American to be happening here, but sadly it is the truth.
Live fast - die young - leave a good-looking corpse
I’m Dutch myself so nope, not assuming so XD
Nevertheless, as a European, it is my continental duty to shit on Americans, which is (partially) why I made the meme :P
No problem, ElPussyKangaroo
Yeah that was my reaction too earlier this morning XD. I believe this post sparked it all: https://sh.itjust.works/post/5513795
Ah, so this is where the memes come from. I was wondering why there were so many in my morning feed XD
Deathgasm. It’s about a bunch of metalheads that find some sort of old hymn. When played, it summons hoards of demons/zombies. So then they start fucking up the zombies. I vaguely remember one of them being impaled with a dildo? Either way, it was an entertaining “turning your brain off” watch that’s pretty unknown afaik.
Don’t forget the coconut!
The ending of How I Met Your Mother. Like, it was certainly no cinematic masterpiece, but I felt like it was a very logical build-up and delivery. I don’t get the impression that they really stretched the story for more seasons either (yes I know they did add more things to stretch it, I just mean I think it doesn’t show story-wise). But even a few days ago I saw people complaining about how bad the ending was, and it’s a rhetoric I see almost every time the show is mentioned. And, again, it is not a cinematic masterpiece by any stretch, but I wouldn’t expect that from a sitcom anyway.
I imagine this is what he looked like when he was watching Cars 2 in the cinema when he spilled his beans and some black teens laughed at him so he became a republican
For people living in colder regions I can certainly understand that winter is not their favourite season. We only have a little snow in winter - if at all - so the nuisance is minimal.
I feel you as a fellow socially anxious atheist. Thankfully my parents respect my wish not to celebrate, but not everyone is so lucky.
Im Westen nichts Neues (All Quiet on the Western Front). A movie about WWI from the German perspective. While not 100% accurate, it does a great job of showing the harrowing trench warfare, the propaganda, and the out-of-touch militarism in the higher ranks. I highly recommend it.
A much older one: Le Grand Vadrouille (The Great Escape). A French WWII comedy about a few British pilots that need to escape occupied France. There is a little bit of English but it’s predominantly French in language. While not all movies from that age have stood the test of time (e.g. Les Gendarmes are quite racist), this one does a decent job!
