Even it was AVNJ, you shouldn’t let some random strangers on the internet ruin things you like. Every one has a skeleton in the closet but if you like the videos, watch them.

What’s syncthing?
Why is AI bad?
I mean it’s not perfect, but it’s only going to get better.
I think despite the downsides of the internet that it’s clearly overwhelming good for society.
I thought you were talking about disposable vapes, if not, apologies.
I don’t disagree with what you’re saying, but whether you live in a capitalist, socialist, communist or what ever other types of economic systems are available, you need to be intellectually honest about what types of workers the society needs to be able thrive.
How many historians do you want qualified before you would say, “maybe we should incentivise people in to things like medicine or engineering”, a hundred thousand, a million?
Of course history is important, but there’s clearly a sensible limit to how many job opportunities there are for curators, archeologists, researchers, teachers etc.
In the UK, more or less fifty percent of young people have a uni level of education but there are not fifty percent of vacant jobs that require a degree level education. It might be absolute lovely that my barista has a history degree, but they could have joined the workforce several years earlier, have dozens of thousands pounds less in debt and still had the opportunity to study history in their own time.
To be fair, how many historians etc do you need to qualify every year?
What’s the point of studying something for years, getting in to dozens of thousands in student debt, potentially getting near the top of your field and then having to go work in a Starbucks because there are so few vacancies in your field?
I agree that these degrees are nice to have, but we should be honest with students in regards to the sort of lifestyle they can expect after they qualify.
Yep. There’s no pain free solution to halting an addiction. You only stop when you really want to.
I went to college and have worked a middle class job since I was 17. Believe me, being smart has nothing to do with it, I’d say less than five percent of people I’ve worked with were “smart”, the rest are just doing the bare minimum to not get sacked.
What ever you’re lacking in knowledge and skills can be made up for by just being keen.
I admit that money does help, unfortunately, the mobility of classes has been in decline for decades now.
It’s absolutely not too late.
Your advice is decent except the start steroids bit.
I’ve heard that cat shits in weird places can be a territorial thing. It may well be a problem caused by the cat being in a new location, that goes away by itself after the cat has had enough time to spread it’s odour about the house.
Thanks! $200 sounds expensive but probably very worth it to save you from tinnitus or from going deaf.
It’s an archaic saying but that doesn’t mean that the meaning has been lost.
Almost the entire industrial revolution was coal powered and the most common fuel for heating homes was coal. Coal used to be an extremely popular and useful commodity.
Edit: I now see that you thought the town of Newcastle was the fast food chain White Castle lol. I did wonder why you were going on about grills!
I’m also interested. My work provides moulded ear plugs, but they definitely don’t let the same range of frequencies through.
A lot of people make fun of me for having an ebike “it’s not proper cycling etc”, but they all want to ignore the fact that without it, I would be driving (as they are).
It’s not bad to be fat
It objectively is and it’s a terrible comparison to being short.
Being fat is terrible for your health and will limit your chances in love. It’s not politically correct to admit it, but most people simply aren’t attracted to people that are overweight, and whilst appearances shouldn’t matter, they absolutely do.
The difference between being short and being fat is that you can’t control your height. Controlling your weight might not be fun, but you can essentially choose what weight you are.
Bullying is obviously never ok, but if you’re not ok with the idea of being called fat, then you can choose not to consistently over eat for long periods of time.
Inb4: I understand some people have severe health and mental issues that are the primary source of their obesity and I empathise hugely with these people, but most overweight people simply lack will power. Losing weight is like giving up smoking, you can want to do it, but you don’t until you say “enough is enough” and actually mean it.
In the UK a few pubs have started the “how much would you like to tip?” When you pay by card.
When I see that, it’s always the last pint I buy from there.
Tipping is not customary here. People tip if they think the service is exceptional or they might “buy the bar tender a drink” if they want to build a relationship as a regular. I’m not OK with this shitty American culture creeping in.
Thanks
