Mark Ames and a guest from the episode about Serbia pointed out how Sweden has tons of votes where they have the citizens directly vote on questions of policy, but isn’t it curious how there was no vote taken on joining NATO? Curious…

Only two NATO member states had held a referendum on joining NATO: Hungary and Slovenia. The rest did without asking.

In Finland, the results of one poll done at the height of hysteria right after Russia invaded Ukraine was enough for the government to say that the people want to join NATO.

Why are you listening to Mark Ames after what he’s been telling you about the Ukraine Crisis for the past two years? Serious question I don’t mean to attack you. At this point, for me, it’s to collect my moments of shocked disbelief that people recommended him to me.

Do you still hang on to his fantasies of Putler’s incompetence and regurgitated disinformation telephone games? He uncritically repeats things NAFO twitter and Robert Lee say then acts superior because he can see through openly contradictory narratives.
