Chomsky is like Zizek, a court jester of capitalism. Both say radical things when things are good and quiet, but when the war machine starts to hum they either fall behind that same war machine in support of it, with the liberal peddled arguments of “muh human rights”, “ebil dictator No. 7874 must go”, this time we are serious and aren’t lying to you and we must defeat authoritarianism, etc. or at best they just go quiet in silent acceptance. Both are comfy in their positions and never want to go beyond their designated pen and risk pissing off their liberal academia friends which would ruin them both career and financial wise.
