All the other examples of liberal democracy’s bullshittery aside, it’s still wild that two private entities (who explicitly refute any obligation of fairness, as seen here) control every part of the “democratic process” except the final vote itself—and as seen in 2000, even that isn’t completely safe.
The liberal response to this? If you can unseat decades of entrenched institutional power, you too can play the oligarchic kingmaker!

Amerikan electoralism is such a sham even if we remain entirely within the standards of what my man Lenin referred to as the liberal bourgeoisdemocratism. Organizing a party in this way would be flat-out illegal in most other places, parties are by definition public, not private. I don’t even think it’s fair to call the USA a two-party system, in fact it doesn’t have any parties when you go by how a political party is commonly understood outside of the US.
Indeed, we don’t have political parties here, but election vehicles driven by corporate investments.
