Honestly? Ignorance. On all the issues the media says voters votes on the most (immigration, the economy) it seems the voters had no clue what the Biden administration (and more generally, the government) has been doing.

I said it elsewhere but it’s like everyone watched Fox News for 30 minutes and/or scrolled their algorithm-based feed to base their vote on.

        My original comment was:

I tend to think they rejected reason.

That’s obviously an opinion; and my opinion as to why is that the voters were ignorant.

I’m a web developer, not an analyst, mind reader or Trump supporter with firsthand knowledge of their way of thinking.

My point is that you don’t have to be an analyst, mind reader, or Trump supporter to try to understand why people “reject reason,” as you say.

In my opinion, as a Marxist, the rise of Trump is a very clear symptom of Capitalist decay. As the Petite Bourgeoisie is proletarianized, ie as the Middle Class (small business owners and the like) face downward pressure from competition against massive, monopolist syndicates and cartels, they turn against the Proletariat, ie the working class.

This is in combination with the DNC’s failure to meaningfully address real working class concerns, by running to the right of Biden in 2020, they disconnected themselves even further from the will of the working class, and lost support.

Bingo. Not just capitalism though, but specifically the neoliberalism Dems offered as “solutions” to the ongoing crises created by Capitalism.
