put all of your election posting here so it doesn’t bother anyone else!

from @[email protected]:

For Agitprop purposes, I’m asking comrades to help aggregate any and all effortpost responses, critiques, or general thoughts that you have seen or written pertaining to yesterday’s U.S. election that you think have standalone value for discussion either online or IRL.

I made a post for that purpose here, and ideally it can be used not only for general discussion, but as a reference for well thought out responses in discussions about the election to save all of us some brainpower.

No shitposts please, as we’d like to highlight some comrades’ actual effort in constructing responses or analysis, but humor is 100% welcome to help make your point!

Open border? Don’t use republican (and now Democrat) talking points.

Democrats embraced the Republican narrative that the border is a problem, that’s the problem.

Not the first time it’s happened either. Remember when Obamna said US Government had “maxed out it’s credit card” and can’t “afford to” spend? Literally Paul Ryan sound finance nonsense.

Yeah Biden shouldn’t have ended the remain in Mexico policy but he did. That depresses wages for most workers and the party gets to own that.

        BUT MUH OPEN BORDERS POLICY!jon-yell

Fucking ridiculous bullshit. The US doesn’t have anything approaching an “open borders” policy. Also migrant workers aren’t the ones suppressing wages, its the fucking business owners that decide that they want to hire cheaper labor and generally the politicians who do not to push minimum wages to keep up with inflation at the behest of the ownership class. Get out of here with that xenophobic shit.

Declining wages have nothing to do with undocumented workers coming in to do the jobs that crackers are never gonna do in large enough numbers anyway. USian wages have been completely stagnated since 1973 and the dawn of neoliberalism. Don’t blame immigrants, blame capitalists and imperialism.

Remember back when Obummer nearly ruined the Georgia peach harvest because he cracked down on immigration to the point where ag workers went in to hiding and teh margins on US ag are so sharp that white people won’t (can’t afford to) do the work?

If you’re concerned about “depressed wages”, join and/or support a non-racist, non-nationalist labor union like the IWW, dumbass. Labor solidarity must cross and subvert the artificial, capitalist-approved, state-imposed lines across the map. FUCK your borders!
