Thought I’d share this video by my favorite Battlefield youtuber, LevelCap, sharing his thoughts and criticisms about this game. I haven’t gotten to play much of it yet so I can’t back up anything he says but I hope to get some more hours in soon on the upcoming holiday weekend.

I suspect this will be the ongoing theme for this game. Wildly chaotic and fun gameplay, bad graphics. The guy even says it hurts his soul. Fortunately for many, gamplay is still king. I’ll agree that there are a few things that are missing polish, though. Some of the mil sim aspects could be toned down in areas, but I would hate for it to be done so much so that the immediate frontline gameplay (arguably the biggest strength of the game) suffers.

One of the downsides I’ve seen mentioned is magazine memory, i.e. having to combine half-empty mags but to me that one is minor. My biggest complaint so far has probably been the amount of time you need to spend bandaging yourself. I preferred Battlefield’s system of having the medic toss a pack down for an AOE heal, and that may be how the medic class works (I’ve only played Engineer) but I assume there will be tons of tweaks and balances during the early access period and beyond.

There’s actually an option for the Medic to throw their pack down so everyone can heal off of it (i think thats what throwing on the ground does for the pack). Or, they can heal directly. I assumed he meant the fact that pretty much anytime you catch a stray > bandage. I kind of like it because it hits a resource that also needs to be managed in game, but I’ll agree that it does seem to be prevalent right now.
